Lisa Napoli

Director, Community Relations

Lisa Napoli has the rare ability to convert individuals’ enthusiasm for a good cause into tangible benefits for everyone in the community. A few of her community development successes include fundraising and subsequent coordination of a food bank effort, complete renovation of a local playground and clubhouse, and renovation of a church. As a senior program officer at the Henry M. Jackson Foundation, she awarded grants that launched a variety of programs.  Lisa also has experience writing grants and raising funds for San Francisco non-profit organizations and schools. Lisa received a B.A. in international studies from the University of Washington and an M.B.A. from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. 

Sally Brien Holper

Vice President, Development

Sally Brien Holper has driven financial growth and success at a variety of non-profit organizations over the last twenty years. She is responsible for the Joanne Pang Foundation’s fundraising, grant writing, community outreach and constituent relationship management. Previously, Sally held senior management positions at a number of San Francisco Bay Area biotechnology companies including Corning, Costar and Flow Laboratories. Sally oversees a number of high impact fundraising and development activities at St. Cecilia School in San Francisco, including the Scrip program and grant writing. She holds a B.S. in biology from the College of William and Mary.

Helen Vydra Roy

Vice President, Marketing

Helen Vydra Roy has an extensive track record of success in developing messaging and marketing campaigns for non-profit organizations. As a trade analyst for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), she provided marketing, management and regulatory guidance to US companies investing overseas. Helen authored comprehensive USAID guidebooks to help American businesses use emerging web technologies to market themselves. Recently, she has successfully led fundraising and marketing efforts for a number of San Francisco schools. Helen received an M.A. from Columbia University in international policy analysis and management and a B.A. in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Vince McGovern

Vince McGovern brings a wealth of operational experience in the non-profit sector to the Joanne Pang Foundation. He is a longtime  manager at the J. David Gladstone Institutes, a non-profit research organization focused on the study of cardiovascular, neurological and immunological diseases. Aside from his professional activities, Vince is a dedicated volunteer who seeks to improve the community by developing and promoting sports programs for youths in the San Francisco Bay Area. He received an M.S. in molecular biology from the University of Arizona and an A.B. in cellular biology from the University of California, Berkeley.

Gregory Porter

CFO and Treasurer

Greg Porter has extensive experience in shaping the financial practices and strategies of non-profit organizations as they grow. He is a partner with Silverman, Krantz & Porter, a San Francisco accountancy corporation that provides personalized accounting and tax services that include preparation of financial statements, budgeting analysis, audits, tax preparation, and bookkeeping. Greg has served as an outside director on a variety of boards and is on the finance and audit committees of several San Francisco organizations. He received a B.S. in accounting from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.

Scott Hildula

President

Scott Hildula is an expert in building local, national and international awareness of the critical issues faced by all types and sizes of organizations. As principal of RedUmbrella Group, he leads a communications consulting agency that provides media strategy, speechwriting and marketing support to some of the world’s largest and best known brands. Previously, Scott was vice president of media relations and messaging for Cohn and Wolfe. Prior to this role, he was an award-winning journalist at leading news organizations and publications. Scott has been a board member of a number of non-profit organizations, including the San Francisco Museum and Historical Society and San Francisco Rotary #2. Scott received a B.S. in Political Science from Grinnell College.

Joseph Pang, Ph.D

Joseph Pang established the Joanne Pang Foundation in 2004 in memory of his late daughter and to promote the search for cures for all blood diseases. He is completely committed to making the Northern California Umbilical Cord Blood Bank a reality. Joe wrote See Daddy! That’s The New Kite, an account of nine year-old Joanne’s valiant battle with leukemia and the subsequent effects on her loving family. He manages the analytical research and development department for InSite Vision, a biopharmaceutical company developing novel ophthalmic products. Joe received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Michigan and was a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University before joining the private sector.
